Dealing with the Vocabulary


We have been engaged in sorting out all the differences that are present amongst Competency Based Learning, Proficiency Based Learning, Mastery Learning, Agency Learning, etc. Essentially they are all somewhat similar. In addition to defining these, we are looking at the use of learning scales to create interactive lessons. A graphic is shown below of the language we are choosing to use in this process. The "proficiency work" is in service to created a personalized learning pathway for each student.

In another group, we have been sorting out transferable skills to measure. Much of these tie into our work on the Creativity Rubric from a year back.
